This is a Winters Kiss, which is a chocolate dark rum sour. Some version of this has probably been done before but this what I came up with.
1 1/2 oz. Dark Rum
1 oz. Simple Syrup
3/4 oz. Lemon Juice
1/2 oz. Crème De Cacao
1 Egg White
3 Dash of Cocoa Bitters
Top with cinnamon
Everything goes into a shaker for a dry shake. Then add in the ice to cool it down and dilute. Double strain into a sour glass and dust with cinnamon.
For a first try it was amazing. I do have a couple ideas for the next one. Maybe some more cocoa bitters, or try adding orange bitters to go with the chocolate. I will also try changing out the cinnamon with nutmeg.
It could use some tweaking but it’s a great start! Winters Kiss is definitely going onto my home menu.
