Deep Dish Pizza - SGWAK

One of my all time favourite foods is pizza. So when I got the craving to make some bread, had some mozzarella in the fridge and see that there’s homemade pizza sauce in the freezer I had to make pizza. 

I’ve been topping them with sausage and black olives and they are amazing. The pizza sauce is one that got made earlier this year and luckily it was a large batch for time just like this. I might post one of those recipes sometime.

But where this pizza shines is the dough. It was just a overnight poolish focaccia recipe that’s been spiced up a bit. I have provided that recipe below.

For these pizzas I was using an 8 inch skillet which required a 220g dough ball. These got cooked at 575 for approximately 12 minutes. Because my oven doesn’t get that hot I used the barbeque so the temperature wasn’t the most stable. So you will want to keep an eye on them. The first one got a little extra colour on the bottom. Still delicious but it could have been even better.
